Highlands 460 Garage Sale

Highlands460 Neighborhood Garage Sale in June!
Friday & Saturday, June 2 & 3 2023

What does it cost?

Participation is FREE! This event is being provided as a service to the community.

How will this event be promoted?

Your local real estate team, The Steller Group, is sponsoring the event. We provide advertising in print newspapers and online postings, and order professionally printed directional signs for the weekend of the sale. On the Friday and Saturday of the sale, maps designating which homes are participating in the sale will be available for shoppers to help them navigate the neighborhood. This is why it’s important for homes to register—not only so we can promote a large sale in our advertising, but so shoppers will find YOU!

What advertising am I responsible to provide?

Signs will direct people to the neighborhood and your street, and flyers will help people find your home. However, if you’d like to help your home stand out and for people to easily identify your sale items, you are welcome and encouraged to put up your own advertising and directional signs. For example, a poster board stating “Toys! Home Décor! Antiques!” in large lettering will encourage the right shoppers to visit your sale.

Having a clearly marked “FREE” box will also attract buyers to your sale. Place items in there that are in good condition, but that you would like to see someone else enjoy and take off your hands for free.

What are the hours of the sale?

We do not post hours in our advertising, so that everyone can open and close according to what fits their schedule best. Please note that the busiest and most profitable times for garage sales are early on Friday mornings. To make the most of the “serious shoppers,” we’d recommend opening as early as 7 a.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. on Saturday.

I do want to sell, but not for two days. What are my options?

If you opt to participate on only one day, please be sure to put up a sign saying “Open Tomorrow” on Friday, or “Sold Out” on Saturday. It will minimize confusion and encourage shoppers to proceed to the next home. Please note that Friday morning traditionally experiences the highest buyer volume of the weekend.

I don’t know if I have enough items to merit a sale. What should I do?

Buddy up with a neighbor and share a sale site! Or, if you don’t know of anyone else participating, let us know that you would be willing to either host a co-op sale or take your items to someone else’s sale site. We will do our best to match you with someone else looking for a sale buddy.
